Born and raised in New Brunswick, New Jersey, James Harding, son of Dr. Mary H. Harding and the Honorable J. Norris Harding, J.S.C., is a second generation attorney whose family has been practicing law for over 50 years in the greater New Brunswick area.
Mr. Harding is a graduate of St. Peter's Elementary School (1987), attended Saint Peter's Preparatory School in Jersey City, N.J. (1987-1989) and is alumnus of St. Joseph's High School in Metuchen, New Jersey (1991).
Mr. Harding is a graduate of Loyola University Maryland (1995), majoring in political science and receiving a Bachelor of Arts. Mr. Harding completed his legal education at the Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware, receiving his J.D. in 1998.
Upon his graduation from law school, Mr. Harding completed a judicial clerkship in the Middlesex County Vicinage, clerking for the Honorable Robert A. Longhi, A.J.S.C.. Thereafter, Mr. Harding was employed by the State of New Jersey Judiciary (1999-2006) serving as a Calendar Coordinator in the Civil Division and an Adminstrative Specialist and Team Leader in the Civil Division-Special Civil Part.
In 2006, Mr. Harding left the State of New Jersey to accept a position as an associate at the law firm of DiFrancesco, Bateman, Coley, Yospin, Kunzman, Davis, Lehrer, and Flaum, P.C. located in Warren Township New Jersey. There Mr. Harding served as the Assistant Township Attorney for the Township of Edison (2006-2009), Attorney for the Edison Township Public Library (2006-2006), Attorney for the Edison Township Fair Rent Control Board (2008-2009), Piscataway Township Public Defender (2009 to present) and South Bound Brook Public Defender (2010 to 2012).
